January 31

Charm School – 45-Minute Class Schedule

0–5 min | Welcome & Warm-Up

Purpose: Set the tone, ease nerves

  • Warm welcome and brief intro

  • What Charm School is (and is not)

  • Group agreement: respectful, supportive, no pressure

  • Light icebreaker:

    • “Share your name and one word that describes how you feel in social situations”

5–15 min | First Impressions & Presence

Purpose: Build awareness of non-verbal communication

Topics:

  • Posture and body language

  • Eye contact (how much is enough)

  • Smiling naturally

  • Handshakes or greetings (age-appropriate)

Activity:

  • Practice a confident entrance + greeting

  • Gentle partner or group feedback (positive only)

15–25 min | Polite Conversation Basics

Purpose: Reduce social anxiety

Topics:

  • How to start a conversation

  • Simple, polite phrases

  • Listening without interrupting

  • Graceful responses

Activity:

  • Practice a short conversation starter:

    • “Hi, how are you?” → follow-up question

  • Practice active listening

25–35 min | Everyday Etiquette Essentials

Purpose: Practical skills they can use immediately

Choose 2–3 based on your group:

  • Introductions (self and others)

  • Phone etiquette (when to put it away)

  • Polite responses (“excuse me,” “thank you,” “please”)

  • Respectful disagreement

Mini practice:

  • Role-play common scenarios

  • Keep it light and supportive

35–42 min | Confidence in Real Situations

Purpose: Apply skills to real life

  • How to recover from mistakes

  • What to do when you feel awkward

  • How to exit conversations politely

Activity:

  • “What would you say?” group discussion

  • Encourage participation without pressure

42–45 min | Wrap-Up & Encouragement

Purpose: Leave them feeling confident and proud

  • Key takeaways (2–3 points)

  • Encourage practice during the week

  • Invite questions

  • Share what’s next (next class or series)

Charm School: Dining Etiquette (45-Minute Class)

Objective: Build confidence and polish your dining manners for any social or professional setting.

1. Welcome & Icebreaker (5 minutes)

  • Quick introduction and fun icebreaker: share a memorable dining moment.

  • Overview of what students will learn.

2. Table Settings & Utensils (10 minutes)

  • Overview of casual vs. formal place settings.

  • How to use utensils correctly and napkin etiquette.

3. Posture & Table Presence (5 minutes)

  • Proper sitting posture at the table.

  • Holding utensils gracefully and maintaining confident body language.

4. Conversation & Dining Skills (10 minutes)

  • Engaging politely in table conversation.

  • Ordering tips and handling tricky situations gracefully.

5. Practical Activity / Mini Role Play (10 minutes)

  • Quick mock dining scenario: practice table manners and etiquette in small groups.

  • Instructor demonstrates corrections and tips in real time.

Charm School: Digital Etiquette (45-Minute Class)

  • How to interact respectfully on social platforms.

  • Engaging respectfully in online discussions and chats.
